Mrs. Carajohn began her career in Illinois teaching 6th grade and 3rd grade. She has taught 3rd and 5th grade at The Villages Elementary of Lady Lake. and now she is the VELL Media Specialist. Mrs. Carajohn received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Illinois in 1986 and earned her Master’s Degree in education from Governors State University in 1990. She moved to Florida in 1996. Mrs. Carajohn loves spending time with her husband Rick, their children Nicole and Zachary and their dog Roxy. The media center combines Mrs. Carajohn’s two favorite passions: teaching children and reading books.

Mrs. Pilonero has taught at The Villages Elementary of Lady Lake since 2014. She previously taught at Lake Panasoffkee Elementary School in Sumter County for 8 years. Before moving to Florida in 2006, she taught music for 12 years in Ramsey, New Jersey, where her job included a variety of roles: fifth grade band director, elementary general music teacher, middle school chorus accompanist, and assistant director of the high school marching band. She has earned two music education degrees - a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a Master’s Degree from Montclair State University in New Jersey. She was selected as her school’s Teacher of the Year in 2009 and is this year’s VELL Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Pilonero completed her Orff Certification at Stetson University in Deland. In recent years, Mrs. Pilonero has served as Treasurer of the Central Florida Orff Chapter and Orff Clinician for Orange and Seminole All-County Elementary Music Festivals. Mrs. Pilonero currently serves as President of the Florida Elementary Music Educators’ Association (FEMEA) and member of the American Orff-Schulwerk Association (AOSA) Advocacy Committee. She lives in Wildwood with her husband, Mark, and their dog, Daisy.
